Simmons Kozy and Nido baby nests recalled in Canada: check the model label

Canadian recall dated October 22, 2026 · Health Canada RA-82829

Have a Simmons Kozy or Nido baby nest or lounger at home? Check its warning label before using it again. Health Canada has recalled six models in Canada because of a potential fall hazard. The agency says to stop using an affected product immediately and dispose of it safely so it cannot be used again.[1]

Guide to six recalled Canadian models: Kozy 59900 and 59902; Nido 59950, 59955, 59960 and 59965. Check the label and stop using an affected model.

Which models are affected?

Find the model number on the product's warning label. Health Canada's notice lists these six combinations; the UPC was supplied on the packaging, so you do not need the box to start checking the label.[1]

Why was it recalled?

Health Canada determined that these baby nests and loungers do not meet Canada's Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations and create a potential fall hazard. The notice says the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada as of October 19, 2026. That dated report is not a guarantee that the products are safe or that no later reports exist.[1]

The recall's stated hazard is a fall risk. A separate Health Canada guide warns that soft baby nests and loungers are not safe infant sleep spaces because their padded sides pose a suffocation risk. That broader sleep warning is not the stated basis for this specific recall. Health Canada advises placing a baby on their back on a firm, flat surface intended for sleep.[1][5]

What should a caregiver in Canada do?

If the model matches, stop using it immediately. Health Canada directs consumers to dispose of the recalled item safely so nobody can use it again. Do not donate, sell or hand it on; the Canadian notice says recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold or given away in Canada. Check the official notice for updates and the company's current contact details. The Canadian instructions should not be assumed to describe a remedy or legal obligation in another country.[1]

A different question is how to practise responding to childhood emergencies. For caregivers near Montréal who want in-person instruction, ActionBafoly offers Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR B. Training does not fix a recalled product or replace the stop-use instruction; check any employer's exact course requirement before booking. There is no affiliate product recommendation for this recall, and no replacement nest is endorsed. For more ActionBafoly learning, see the website and video channel.

Share the official notice with anyone in Canada who may care for a baby using one of these models. The label check and recall action come first.[1]
