CPR Level C or Emergency First Aid with CPR-C: which course should you book?

If you want to learn CPR, AED use and what to do when someone is choking, start with CPR Level C. If you also want first aid for injuries and other urgent situations, choose Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C. CPR-C is included in the Emergency First Aid course, so you do not need to buy both.

The Canadian Red Cross CPR-C description covers CPR for adults, children and infants. Its Emergency First Aid description adds an initial first-aid response and wound care. The teaching times above exclude breaks; the booking pages show the class arrival and finish times.

Choose for the situations you want to handle

CPR practice is part of both course options.

A parent, coach or volunteer may mainly want hands-on practice for CPR, an AED and choking. CPR Level C is the focused option. Emergency First Aid with CPR-C covers those skills and adds practice in checking an ill or injured person, calling for help and responding to common injuries while emergency help is on the way.

If you are taking a course for work or school, look at the exact course name they requested. “CPR Level C” and “Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C” are different certificates. If the requirement says “Standard First Aid,” ask for that course instead of choosing either one from this comparison.

What about renewal?

ActionBafoly lists CPR-C renewal at CA$71 and Emergency First Aid with CPR-C renewal at CA$96. Renewal is for learners with a current, eligible certificate. Contact the booking team with your certificate details before selecting a renewal; the team will confirm eligibility and the attendance time. The full courses do not require a previous certificate.

For courses with CPR practice, bring a compatible pocket mask with a one-way valve or add one for CA$15 during booking. A printed learner guide is an optional CA$20 add-on. You can review the total before payment.
